Draw Outside of the Box: Meet the Judges!

As of 9am on March 30, the public voting phase of the Draw Outside of the Box contest came to a close.  On that day, the 30 entries with the most ‘Likes’ in in each category (K-12 and All Ages/Non-Student) became finalists and have moved on to the judging phase of the contest.

(View our galleries of finalists on Facebook: K-12 category, All Ages category)

Our panel of esteemed creative professionals (and two former contest winners!) have been tasked with determining the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category. The judges will make their selections by April 16, by way of ranked choice voting, with an announcement on our social media accounts following soon.

The two first place winning designs will then be prepared for printing, will go to press, and will become the face of OTTO’s pizza boxes throughout 12 locations (plus delivery and catering services) in MA, NH. and ME.  First, Second, and Third place winners in each category will be awarded the prizes outlined in the contest overview.

Ordering and Rewards Changes for 2024

  • We are no longer tracking ‘Lifetime Points.’ We are now only tracking your progress from 1-100 points. At 100 points, a $10 reward is triggered, and your points will reset to 0 to start again.
  • The Birthday Reward will now be a $5 reward instead of a free slice.  This change was made to provide you with more options.  Put it towards a pizza, apps, dessert, or buy a slice – it’s up to you!

What’s a ReMix? Check out our location-specific pizza creations!

Over the last 14 years, we have prided ourselves on creating delicious pizzas that break the rules, with unexpected combinations of high-quality ingredients that are anything but ordinary. We do that by spending countless hours developing recipes and taking an unreasonable amount of time determining how each ingredient is prepared. While most of the initial ideas have come from the thousands of OTTO team members that have made our journey possible, we haven’t always found ways to highlight more of these ideas and personalities. That’s why we’re so excited about the Team ReMix pies.

Each OTTO team will be creating a custom pie using our currently available ingredients and toppings. Whether they’re prepping an item in a slightly different way, substituting or adding toppings to a pie currently on the menu, or going completely rogue with something totally new and unexpected, you’ll finally have the chance to order our teams’ favorite off-menu creations.

We invite you to try what our teams are creating. Better yet, let us know if you like their ideas…maybe one day it’ll become a permanent addition to our menu!

Pizza Powering Music Education

Music has fueled what we do since we opened the first OTTO in Portland’s Arts District in 2009.  We have employed, supported, and fed creative types for the past 14 years. We’ve hosted live music, sponsored live music events, and we personally program the music we play in our restaurants every day. Music is an essential ingredient for us.  We’ve seen first-hand how music can foster creative collaboration, encourage the exchange of ideas, and build community, and in 2023 we are committed to making an impact, at a time when music education funding is being reduced or eliminated.

Maine Academy of Modern Music

Starting April 1, $1 from every Seasonal Special pizza sold in Maine and Massachusetts will be donated to local non-profit organizations working to make quality music education available to students.

In Maine, $1 from every Seasonal Special pie sold will be donated to the Maine Academy of Modern Music, a nonprofit organization serving over 2000 students statewide – over 1600 of which access quality music programming at a free or reduced cost. Additionally, MAMM regularly provides music education programs to schools, civic organizations and other non-profit organizations throughout Maine.

In Massachusetts, $1 from every Seasonal Special pie will go to Berklee’s City Music Boston, a nonprofit program that provides music education to 4th-12th graders in underserved communities in Greater Boston (and beyond).

City Music Boston

OTTO’s Seasonal Specials rotate on a quarterly basis, often utilizing a creative mix of fresh, in-season toppings.  Many of these quarterly signature pizzas have become customer favorites over the years, eventually finding their way onto our year-round menu. Our current special is Asparagus, Prosciutto & Pesto, available through May 31, 2023, with a new special announced June 1.

We are excited to kick off this partnership with MAMM and City Music Boston.  Next time you order one of our Seasonal Specials, know that you are helping to power music education, one pie at a time.

A New Year brings a new app and changes to digital ordering

Throughout January, OTTO locations will be migrating to a new ordering system – including new web ordering and a new mobile app. Locations will be migrating in stages throughout January.

Once complete, we will be rolling out new features over the next few months that will improve the overall customer experience, as well as providing operational efficiencies for our team members.

Our teams will be working hard to ensure a smooth transition, but it is possible that you may experience some minor turbulence.  We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this transition period.

What does this mean for me?
If you typically place your order digitally, and/or if you are a Rewards member, your account password will not migrate over to the new system. But never fear. See below for details on how to ensure the transfer of key account information.

Ordering Online
Once your location has migrated to the new system, you will notice that the ordering page has a different look and feel. You will not be able to log in with your previous password. On the new ordering page (order.ottoportland.com) click ‘Sign In/Sign Up’ on the upper right side of the page, click ‘Create Account’ and set up a new account using the email address associated with your ‘old’ account.

Your past order history not transfer to your new account, so you’ll be starting fresh. Any orders placed from this point on will be added to the ‘Order History’ tab, and will be available for quick re-order.

If you typically store credit/debit card info on your account, you will need to re-add these to your new account. You can add multiple payment options in the new ‘Manage Cards’ tab.

We apologize for these inconveniences.

OTTO Rewards Members
Existing Rewards members’ points balance and coupons will transfer to your new account, as long as your previous account’s phone number is used when setting up your new account.

OTTO Mobile App
The OTTO mobile app was just updated on Jan. 20. If you have downloaded the app prior to that date, you will need to update the app, or download again. (If you open the app and are not able to order, you are likely viewing the ‘old’ app and will need to download the updated version.

As mentioned above under ‘Ordering Online,’ if this is the first time you have signed in to the new platform, you will need to create a new account. Please see ‘Ordering Online’ above for details.

As always, the OTTO Mobile App can be found on the Apple App Store and on Google Play (for Android devices). Just search “OTTO Pizza.”

Gift Cards
Any OTTO gift card, regardless of when it was purchased, will be redeemable at any OTTO location post-migration. NOTE: Gift cards redemption is currently (and temporarily) not available on the mobile app…stay tuned.

Should you run into any issues activating an e-gift (email) gift card, or locating a previously ‘saved’ gift card during this time, please reach out to us at contactus@ottoportland.com with a brief description of your issue, along with details (date ordered, physical or digital card, email address or phone number associated with the account, etc.) and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

What if I run into other issues during this transitional period?
We will be standing by to assist you with any problems you encounter during this transition. If you need assistance, please email contactus@ottoportland.com with a brief description of your issue, including any account details (email, phone number, etc.). We’ll do our very best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience. We really appreciate it.
